Dastgir calls for mobilising NSC
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khurram Dastgir urged mobilisation of the National Security Committee (NSC).
Expressing his thoughts on the Samaa TV programme, "Red Line With Talat Hussain", Dastgir said: "Subsequently, there is a need to invite the political parties' parliamentary leaders."
"The format of the committee is not beneficial in terms of decision-making; rather, there is a need for limitation," Dastgir maintained.
Speaking about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Dastgir said: "The KP CM had said that we cannot fight the Taliban; rather, there is a need to hold talks with them. The statement made by the KP chief minister shows that he [CM Gandapur] is kowtowing to the Taliban."
"The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should also be invited to Quetta as we have to hold talks with the party [PTI]," said Dastgir.
He maintained: "PTI founder Imran Khan had not attended the meetings even as the country's prime minister."
"The PTI has not obtained any insights into how to deal with the terrorists," Dastgir lamented.
Imran Khan will not apologise to anyone, claims Salman Akram Raja
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has categorically rejected the possibility of party founder Imran Khan offering an apology, stating that there is "no question" of him apologising to anyone.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court on Monday, Raja clarified that for now, there was no chance of talks with PML-N, PPP, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). However, he confirmed that discussions for a "grand opposition alliance" are underway with various political groups, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and parties from Sindh.
His statements come amid PML-N senior leader Rana Sanaullah referring to statements made by the ISPR director general recently that if the PTI wanted to move forward politically, it must offer a sincere apology for the May 9 events.
"Any concession is contingent on an apology for the May 9 incidents," he stressed on Samaa TV talk show, 'Nadeem Malik Live'.
Raja also addressed the issue of meetings with Imran Khan, stating that a mutual agreement had been reached regarding his visitation rights and that Imran Khan would be given all the rights he is entitled to. He explained that PTI leaders visiting Khan in jail would not be permitted to make political statements upon leaving.

"We have accepted the condition that those meeting him will not discuss political matters outside. However, banning political discussions within PTI itself is unjustified," he said, adding that they had been told their media talks created law and order situation.
"No one can be banned from speaking; there are members of parliament who have to express their point of view wherever they find appropriate. Only relatives have been barred from speaking," he added.
PTI criticizes govt actions on March 23
Salman Akram Raja strongly criticized the government's actions on Pakistan Day, alleging that PTI members were harassed, and even a simple celebration was disrupted in Lahore.
"March 23 is a day of joy, but instead of allowing us to celebrate, police raided houses and even prevented the cutting of a cake. This is not just a constitutional violation but also a breach of basic decency," he remarked.
Talks with govt allies unlikely
Salman Akram Raja said talks with the opposition parties are going well, adding that the PTI will proceed in consultation with everyone. "We are proceeding on all fronts, including talks with the JUI and parties from Sindh," he maintained.
Regarding potential negotiations with ruling parties, Raja dismissed the likelihood of dialogue with PPP, PML-N, and MQM, arguing that these parties are currently benefiting from the status quo.
"The parties that are gaining from the current situation must first reassess their conduct before any meaningful discussions can take place," he asserted.
Bilawal offers PM Shehbaz to do everything to facilitate talks between parties
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has urged political leaders to put aside personal differences and unite against the rising threat of terrorism, which he described as a national security crisis.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner at the Governor House in Lahore, Bilawal noted the PPP's important role in national politics, emphasising the need for dialogue between the government and opposition to address national issues, particularly terrorism and economic instability.
Call for political unity
Bilawal pointed out that while terrorism is resurging in parts of the country, political parties remain divided. He stressed that terrorist organizations are actively disrupting the peace in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Pakistan cannot afford political instability at such a crucial time.
"We have defeated terrorism before, and we will defeat it again," Bilawal asserted, calling for a collective national effort to counter militancy. He also criticized political parties for prioritizing personal and partisan issues over the country’s challenges, urging them to focus on public welfare instead.
Offer to mediate between govt, opposition
During his address, Bilawal offered to play a role in bridging the gap between the government and opposition. He revealed that the PPP has offered Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that it will do whatever it can to facilitate political dialogue, especially regarding national security concerns.
"The government should reach out to the political parties that did not attend the National Security Committee meeting," Bilawal suggested, emphasizing that these discussions are crucial for forming a national security strategy.
He further advised the prime minister to call another meeting, even after a month, to ensure that all political stakeholders are involved in addressing the issue of terrorism. "The threat of terrorism has become a national security crisis," he asserted.
Criticism of opposition’s approach
Bilawal also took a veiled jab at the opposition, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that their focus on securing the release of their leader should not come at the cost of addressing Pakistan’s real issues.
"People are struggling with poverty, unemployment, and terrorism, yet political divisions have made it difficult to form a consensus on national issues," he remarked. He appealed to opposition leaders to move beyond narrow-minded politics and work towards a united front for the greater good of the nation.
Bilawal also spoke about governance in Punjab, highlighting the importance of keeping Governor House accessible to the people. He emphasized that after the 18th Amendment, the Governor House may not have many resources, but the Punjab governor should still strive to win the people's trust and serve them with dedication.
"The Punjab governor should keep the doors of Governor House open for the public and rule over their hearts," he said, reinforcing the need for inclusive leadership.
Solutions
Bilawal concluded by stating that the PPP remains committed to addressing Pakistan’s pressing issues, including terrorism and the economic crisis. He reassured that his party will continue its efforts to find practical solutions and contribute positively to the government’s policies.
"As a responsible political party, we can provide constructive input to the government, and we also invite the opposition to abandon the politics of division," he said.
PPP announces Sindh-wide protests against Indus Canal Project
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has announced a protest movement against the controversial six canals project on the Indus River, calling it an illegal and unconstitutional initiative.
Senior PPP leader Nisar Khuhro stated that protests will be held across all district headquarters in Sindh on March 25 to oppose the project.
Speaking to the media, Khuhro accused the Punjab government of allocating a budget for the canals despite claims that no such projects were being developed. He reiterated PPP’s stance, saying the party would fight against these canals on all constitutional forums, in legislative houses, and on the streets.
PPP's stance on canal project
Khuhro specifically objected to the Cholistan Canal, arguing that it threatens Sindh’s water rights. He urged the people of Sindh to join the protests in large numbers, emphasizing that the PPP will go street by street and district by district to oppose these projects.
The PPP leader also took aim at political rivals, stating that while other parties criticize the PPP, they remain silent on projects that threaten Sindh’s water resources. He vowed that his party would use all available means to stop the construction of these canals.

He said, "Maulana Fazlur Rehman has not been given any offer by the PTI."
"Maulana Fazlur Rehman has not come up with any demand to get any portfolio," said Murtaza.
"We need clarity over the reservations we have from the past," said the JUI-F leader.
"Ali Amin Gandapur was in the meeting. Maybe this was for the first time that he greeted us in a good manner," said Murtaza.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui said: "It is good news for us regarding the talks between the United States and Afghanistan. It is in our interests to see a peaceful Afghanistan that joins hands with the rest of the world."
"Zalmay Khalilzad's attitude remained negative. Zalmay has no portfolio under the Donald Trump administration," said Siddiqui.
Recalling the train tragedy, Siddiqui said, "The events like the train tragedies happen rarely in the world. The uproar was caused over the train incident on social media, and sympathy was extended towards the terrorists."
"If there is a need, then the operations will also be conducted," Siddiqui stated.
He recalled the events that transpired on May 9, saying, "What was the reaction if May 9 had happened in any other country? We could not even manage to convict anybody in the May 9 mayhem."
"Despite the incidents, the KP's administrative head stands against the operations," said Siddiqui.
US keeps mum on Imran Khan’s situation as State Dept refuses to comment
The United States has declined to respond to a question regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan, while also rejecting reports of a potential entry ban on certain countries.
During a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce was asked about Imran Khan’s situation but refused to offer any remarks.
“We do not comment on the internal matters of other countries. If you want further details, you may ask the White House,” Bruce stated.
Her remarks come amid growing speculation over Washington’s stance on the political developments in Pakistan, particularly regarding Imran Khan’s ongoing legal battles.
Meanwhile, Bruce also dismissed reports suggesting that the US was preparing a list of countries facing potential travel restrictions.
"The list that has been awaited for several days does not exist," she clarified, adding that the US government is conducting a visa policy review under the directives of President Trump.
“A security review is underway to assess visa policies and determine entry eligibility. Once the review is complete, we will be able to comment further,” she said.

Leaders violated party policy during May 9 mayhem, admits Gandapur

Expressing his thoughts on the Samaa TV programme, "Nadeem Malik Live", CM Gandapur said: "It was not the party policy to attack the military installations."
CM Gandapur said: “We will not allow operation in KP. The operation will not provide an advantage; rather, we will have to bear the loss.”
Speaking about dialogues with Afghanistan, CM Gandapur said: “There is a dire need to hold dialogues with Afghanistan as the province shares 2200 km which connects with Afghanistan.”
“When the USSR (present-day Russia) attacked Afghanistan, it was said that it was a jihad. However, when the United States attacked Afghanistan, our policies were changed.”
CM Gandapur said: “We had allowed others to use our land for their war, which was a mistake. Subsequently, our ties with Afghanistan soured.”
“I had formed my Jirga to hold talks with Afghanistan. A JIT had been formed over the martyrdom of Hamidul Haq and inquiry is underway,” he said.
“A foreign organisation is behind the martyrdom of Hamidul Haq,” he said.
Speaking about the relations with Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir, CM Gandapur said: "I have good relations with the COAS. We reach consensus over matters of national interest."
"The COAS supported me over matters of KP rights and the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award," he said.

“The workers violated the party policy in a fit of emotion on May 9,” he said.
“A meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan was not allowed. We [PTI] had not been given reserved seats yet. A Senate election has not even happened in KP,” said CM Gandapur.
He asserted, “The country cannot witness stability as long as Imran Khan is behind bars. There is a need to release the PTI founder to move forward. Tomorrow, the talks were not held about political stability and the PTI founder.”

PTI opts out of national security huddle, insists on meeting with Imran Khan
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has decided to abstain from the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting scheduled for today, citing the party’s exclusion from key discussions as a major concern.
Senior PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Omar Ayub have made their participation conditional on being allowed to meet the party’s founder, Imran Khan, who remains in detention.
However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will be attending the high-level session.
Raja says any discussion without PTI is futile
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja emphasized that no meaningful discussion on national security could take place without PTI’s participation.
"Any discussion without PTI is futile. We represent a significant portion of the country's political spectrum, and excluding us from key decisions weakens the democratic process," he stated.
Raja further claimed that there were reports indicating that today’s meeting might deliberate on potential military action in Afghanistan. "We have learned that a decision may be made to conduct operations in a brotherly Islamic country. PTI will not support any such action. Pakistan must prioritize diplomatic engagement and regional stability over unilateral decisions," he asserted.
Omar Ayub says terrorism can't be eliminated through isolated decisions
Echoing similar sentiments, Omar Ayub also expressed reservations about the meeting, highlighting the importance of a broad-based political dialogue to address security concerns. "Terrorism cannot be eliminated through isolated decisions taken behind closed doors. We believe the solution lies in a grand national dialogue, not military intervention," Ayub stated.
Despite PTI’s broader boycott, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is set to attend the meeting, arguing that his role as the provincial chief executive requires him to stay informed about national security developments. "As the representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has been directly impacted by terrorism, it is my duty to attend and understand the government’s security strategy," Gandapur remarked.
The meeting, convened by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is expected to provide a comprehensive briefing on the security situation in Balochistan and KP. The military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, will update parliamentary members on recent terror incidents and potential countermeasures.
The government is also reportedly considering a large-scale operation against banned militant outfits operating in Balochistan. A high-ranking official, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that discussions would include possible security measures to curb the increasing number of attacks in the region.
Meanwhile, the PTI leadership has reiterated its demand for a jirga (tribal assembly) to be called to discuss Pakistan’s security challenges. Shibli Faraz demands consultation with Imran Khan
Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz has voiced concerns about the upcoming security briefing, stating that any discussion on national security remains incomplete without consulting PTI’s founder Imran Khan.
Faraz emphasized that the support of PTI’s founding chairman is crucial for shaping an effective anti-terrorism strategy, adding that the success of the National Action Plan was largely due to the PTI’s commitment.
“The speaker of the National Assembly must fulfil the promise of allowing a PTI delegation's consultation with its founding chairman,” Shibli Faraz urged.
He further warned that failing to involve the party’s founding leader would only deepen political instability, making efforts against terrorism ineffective.

Relations with PTI

Bilawal urges unity, says enemies exploiting internal discord
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday warned that global powers, terrorists, and the country’s adversaries were taking advantage of internal divisions, urging national unity to counter the resurging threat of terrorism.
Speaking in the National Assembly during a debate on the Jaffer Express tragedy, Bilawal strongly condemned all forms of terrorism, stating that both Pakistan and the PPP have suffered immensely due to extremist violence. “An attempt was made to kidnap me from the Prime Minister’s House. My mother, Benazir Bhutto, was martyred because of terrorism,” he reminded the House.
Bilawal stressed that terrorism was not a new challenge for Pakistan, adding that the nation had previously fought together to rid the country of militancy. “From ordinary citizens to the police and the armed forces, everyone made sacrifices in this war,” he said.
Recalling the APS tragedy, he highlighted how all political parties had set aside their differences to implement the National Action Plan (NAP), which had significantly weakened terrorist networks in the past. “But unfortunately, we have lost the gains we made against terrorism. The flames of militancy have reignited, and we are facing a more dangerous period than before,” he said.
Bilawal lamented that, unlike in the past, Pakistan had failed to develop a political consensus on tackling terrorism, which he said had emboldened hostile forces. “Whatever the reason for our weaknesses, the fact remains that terrorists, world powers, and the enemies of Pakistan are exploiting our discord,” he said.
The former foreign minister pointed out that terrorist groups were increasingly targeting vulnerable communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, with each attack being more lethal than the last.
“Terrorists have no ideology, no politics. Religious militants have no religion. Whether it is religious extremism or Baloch insurgents, their sole purpose is to spread fear, shed blood, and derail Pakistan’s progress,” Bilawal stated.
He also alleged that foreign elements were funding and supporting these groups to further their own strategic interests. “They do not want an Islamic state or Baloch rights. They only want to push Pakistan into chaos and block its path to development,” he said.
The PPP chairman called on all political parties to rise above their differences and form a united front against terrorism, warning that failure to do so would only serve the interests of Pakistan’s enemies.
Khawaja Asif slams PTI over ‘propaganda’ on Jaffar Express attack
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Thursday criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its alleged "shameful propaganda" regarding the Jaffar Express attack, saying the party’s social media narrative attempted to discredit the armed forces’ efforts in neutralizing terrorists.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Asif lauded the military’s swift response to the attack, calling it a "milestone in the war against terrorism." He accused PTI of spreading misinformation by claiming that the hostages were released by the militants themselves rather than being rescued by security forces.
“The terrorist incidents of the past three days were manipulated by PTI’s social media team to create a misleading narrative. They suggested that the army did not intervene and that the hostages were freed by the attackers. This propaganda was orchestrated by their members living abroad, including known fugitives,” he said.
The minister further alleged that PTI had a history of supporting military interventions, stating, “Those who were nurtured under martial law now question the sacrifices of our armed forces. PTI was in power for four years, during which General Bajwa and Faiz Hameed briefed them on counterterrorism efforts, yet they now disown their past associations.”
He also slated PTI leader Omar Ayub, referring to him as a “Malaysian of Shaukat Aziz” and “General Musharraf’s favorite.” During the speech, PTI lawmakers demanded Asif name those allegedly involved in the propaganda campaign.
The minister also referenced a recent military officer’s funeral, arguing that PTI was more focused on its political battles than countering terrorism. “They are ready to fight for power but are silent when it comes to confronting terrorists. They say ‘No Khan, No Pakistan,’ yet fail to acknowledge the sacrifices of our forces.”
Asif also addressed PTI’s claims regarding Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s imprisonment, calling it an attempt to divert attention from the military’s success in the Jaffar Express operation.
“The nation is proud of the armed forces for preventing a major catastrophe. Unfortunately, PTI chose to undermine this achievement by propagating falsehoods,” he concluded.
International support for Pakistan
Meanwhile, Australia reiterated its solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of the Jaffar Express attack, expressing support for the country’s counterterrorism efforts.

When asked whether the CJP had advised PTI to stay in the system and not boycott, Mr Gohar responded: “You are absolutely right.”

The PTI chairman stressed that the party’s treatment was “not right for democracy and the rule of law.”

She praised her father - PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif - for bringing Pakistan out of its economic struggles and vowed to continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of the people of Punjab.
"Under Nawaz Sharif's leadership, the country has overcome its difficulties. We will work day and night to change the lives of the people of Punjab," she declared.
Punjab's economic growth
Maryam Nawaz also highlighted the government's efforts in improving the provincial economy, claiming that Punjab has the lowest inflation rate compared to other provinces.
She emphasised that during Nawaz Sharif's leadership, Pakistan’s economy had taken off, contrasting it with the economic turmoil under Imran Khan's tenure.
“During Imran Khan's rule, the stock market crashed, and terrorism resurfaced in the country. But today, we are witnessing a different scenario. Inflation has decreased from 38% to 5%, and Pakistan’s economy is thriving once again,” she said.
PML-N's commitment to public service
The Punjab CM took pride in the provincial government's work over the past year. She stated that Punjab is now experiencing visible changes. "In just one year, we have transformed the province. Today, Punjab is cleaner, and the price of bread has reduced from Rs 25 to Rs 12-13," she noted.
She further discussed the government's support for low-income groups, revealing that loans are being provided to the poor for house construction. Farmers have been issued Kisan cards, and Himmat cards have been given to the disabled to ensure their well-being.
Maryam Nawaz also took a jibe at the previous PTI government, asking what they had done for the youth.
She claimed that her government is actively working to empower the youth by increasing scholarships to 50,000, with the distribution of 100,000 laptops on the horizon.
"Under our leadership, we are not just talking about youth empowerment. We are taking tangible steps by offering scholarships and providing laptops to students,” she added.
Critique of PTI's governance
Without directly naming Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz criticized the PTI government for the economic and security challenges Pakistan faced under their rule.
“The PTI government brought the country to the brink of default. Terrorism returned during their tenure. Now, all we hear is bad news from Adiala Jail,” she said, alluding to Khan’s imprisonment.
She continued to state that, contrary to the opposition's expectations, her government has been able to handle the country’s issues and is moving Pakistan towards progress.
"The opponents had created problems, believing that if the PMLN came into power, it would fail to manage the country. But today, we are on the path to development."

20pc Americans stand with Hamas, Palestinians: Naeemur Rehman
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said on Saturday that 20 per cent of the Americans stand with Hamas and Palestinians.
Expressing his thoughts, Rehman said, “The doctors have claimed that the children in Palestine had been martyred through target. Israel faced defeat on October 7. It is necessary to extend support to Hamas.”
“Israeli occupation of Palestine is not acceptable,” he said.
Rehman said, “We are having a strong connection with Kashmir, which has been occupied by India.”
Separately on Friday, Rehman said that the incumbent government was kowtowing to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Addressing the farmers in Lahore, Rehman said, “The farmers should be provided with all the facilities. The wheat and rice are matters of national food security. The farmers should not be mistreated under the guise of the IMF programme.”
“We will fight for the sake of the farmers’ rights,” said Rehman.
Earlier on Thursday, Rehman said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation's meeting with the judiciary was against the country's sovereignty.
Expressing his thoughts, Rehman lamented the increasing price of the gas and electricity. Rehman took a swipe at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), saying, "Both the PPP and MQM-P had been imposed on Karachi."

Loyalty punished within PTI as ideological workers sidelined
The movements have always thrived on the blood and sweat of those who remain dedicated to their ideals.
However, in the case of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), loyalty was met with betrayal. Those who had dedicated their time and efforts to promoting the party's narrative were either ignored or sidelined.
Sher Afzal Marwat, a well-known ideological worker of PTI, was one of those who sacrificed greatly for the party.
He often stated, “I will never take a fee to fight Imran Khan’s case, for his sight is enough payment for me." Yet, he too found himself pushed to the margins.
This pattern of behaviour was also reflected in the treatment of Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan. Her presence was deemed contrary to Bushra Bibi’s agenda, leading to her exclusion from the party.
In a similar vein, PTI replaced Ali Amin Gandapur with Junaid Akbar as the party’s president in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Akbar had shown his allegiance to Imran Khan, even spending time in jail for his love and loyalty to the party.
It is widely believed that the PTI founder now wish to speak out, but many promises made to them remain unfulfilled. Imran Khan had once vowed, “Before taking a loan, I would rather commit suicide,” yet his government ended up borrowing more than any in Pakistan’s history. Imran Khan and his close associates have gained a reputation for their childish behaviour.
They have often mocked political leaders, including ridiculing Bilawal Bhutto’s accent.
Current PTI ministers have frequently belittled other politicians, using offensive labels to mock them.
This approach has had a detrimental effect on the movement, hollowing it from within.
When personal preferences and dislikes replace principles as the foundation of a movement, it no longer remains alive. Instead, it becomes a thing of the past.

“We do not need portfolio but respect as the party worker,” said Yousafzai.

IMF delegation's meeting with judiciary against country's sovereignty: Hafiz Naeem
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said on Thursday the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation's meeting with the judiciary was against the country's sovereignty.
"There is a wheat crisis, as the price has not been announced yet," said Rehman.
Few days back, Rehman said: "Many of the people sitting in the parliament due to the Form-47. The government came into power through rigging. The opposition is also not interested in running the campaign on the basis of Form-45."
"We will announce a big march following the black day," he said.
He lamented the ballooning inflation, saying, "Ramazan is around the corner but the inflation is increasing continuously."
"The prime minister is making claims of witnessing the drop in inflation at the record level," said Rehman.
PTI’s IMF dossier submitted to undermine Pakistan’s economic recovery
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) recent submission of a dossier to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), calling for action against Pakistan, was seen as yet another attempt to sabotage the country's economic recovery.
This move aligned with the PTI’s historical pattern of seeking foreign intervention to hinder national progress during moments of Pakistan’s stability. The party’s anti-state agenda, which continually aimed to undermine Pakistan’s economic stability, has been exposed.
The PTI’s preference for foreign interference over democratic or legal solutions is evident.
The recovery of Pakistan’s economy has remained a top priority, and any obstruction to this goal is considered contrary to national interests. The PTI’s past actions, including efforts to damage Pakistan’s global reputation, particularly regarding the IMF, were also highlighted.
Presenting facts in contrast to false narratives was crucial to keeping the public aware of the PTI’s harmful political maneuvers.
The PTI’s dossier submission to the IMF represents another attempt to harm Pakistan’s economy, showcasing its persistent anti-state stance. Whenever Pakistan stands on the brink of economic recovery, the PTI has attempted to derail progress through foreign interventions and conspiracies.
Economic stability has remained a national objective, and the PTI’s efforts to disrupt it at this critical juncture are seen as a direct attack on Pakistan's sovereignty.
No patriotic political party would lobby against its own country in international financial institutions. PTI’s letter to the IMF is not merely a political maneuver but a direct assault on Pakistan’s economic autonomy.
History has repeated itself, with the PTI leaders previously seeking foreign assistance to damage IMF deals.
From protests outside the IMF headquarters to leaked conversations involving former finance ministers, the PTI’s record of damaging Pakistan’s economy is evident.
While in power, the PTI mismanaged the economy, and now in opposition, it seeks to exacerbate the financial crisis.
The preference for foreign intervention over democratic and legal solutions highlights the contrast between the PTI’s interests and national interests.
Pakistan is currently on the path to economic recovery through strategic partnerships, trade agreements, and policy reforms, while PTI tries to undermine these efforts.
The timing of PTI’s submission to the IMF is no coincidence; it is a deliberate conspiracy aimed at destabilising the economy during this critical phase.
No responsible political party uses economic challenges for political gain, but PTI thrives on national crises to advance its political agenda.
PTI's actions target not political rivals but the Pakistani people, economy, and future.
The nation must recognise PTI’s recurring pattern; whenever Pakistan moves towards progress, PTI emerges as a destructive force.

PML-N decides against initiating dialogues with PTI
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday decided against initiating the dialogues with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui, while emphasizing the government's policy, said, "The PTI has denounced the invitation of the prime minister and National Assembly speaker for holding the talks."
"This party is not formed for holding talks and embracing the democratic attitude. We will see afterward whether they are serious to hold talks or not," Siddiqui said.
"But we are not giving an offer to hold the talks. Now it is up to the PTI that when the party needs to hold serious talks," said the PML-N senator.
He added, "It would have been better for the PTI to not come to hold talks without any intent. If the PTI wants to hold talks, it should show the seriousness like we [the government] are showing."
Siddiqui took a jibe at PTI founder Imran Khan, saying, "Now, the PTI founder has started to pen the letters."
"If the PTI founder picks up any line of action, this will be better for both himself and the entire country," said Siddiqui.

Separately, few days back, the PTI had once again refused to engage in political talks with the government, rejecting the latest invitation from the National Assembly speaker.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omer Ayub Khan declared that the “chapter of talks is now closed.”
He emphasised that political negotiations are not based on mere wishes but require firm commitments, which, according to him, the government failed to demonstrate.
Omer Ayub criticised the government's approach, stating that while the PTI had initiated discussions in good faith, the ruling authorities neither displayed goodwill nor ill intent -- leading to a deadlock.
“We started the negotiations seriously, but the government did not accept our demands. Since they were not willing to proceed with sincerity, we see no point in continuing talks,” he said.
The opposition leader made it clear that the PTI will no longer pursue talks with the government. “We will not negotiate now,” he stated firmly, adding that his party had given a fair chance to dialogue, but the government’s lack of commitment hindered progress.
On Feb 7, the federal government had extended another offer for dialogue to the PTI, emphasising that the doors for negotiations have never been closed. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had confirmed that the government’s negotiation committee remained intact and had not been dissolved.
Speaking to the media, Ayaz Sadiq said that despite political differences, PTI members were still in contact with the government. He also highlighted that the initiative for talks must come from within PTI itself.
“If approval comes from within the PTI, then they will approach us,” he stated.

He congratulated the Azerbaijani ambassador on the accomplishment, calling it a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries. "This is a very important day for both nations," Aleem Khan added.
The Azerbaijani ambassador, who had played a dynamic role in fostering the bilateral relationship, was also praised by Aleem Khan for his efforts.
Aleem Khan described the ambassador as "a very good friend of Pakistan."
Reflecting on the strength of the bilateral ties, Khan shared that he had visited Baku three times in the past year to further deepen these connections.
'No one should have courage to write letter to CJP'
Justice (retd) Shaiq Usmani said on Tuesday that no one should have the courage to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme "Nadeem Malik Live", Usmani raised significant concerns about the growing trend of judicial involvement in political matters and the influence of social media on judges.
He emphasised that the Chief Justice did not require meetings with anyone, noting, "The Chief Justice should not need meetings with anyone." Justice (retd) Usmani pointed out that, nowadays, judges had become increasingly influenced by social media, which in turn affected their professional conduct. "Judges are now influenced by social media," he said.
The former justice warned that such influence had caused judges to become involved in politics. "Judges, by engaging with the public, get involved in politics," he remarked.

Justice (retd) Usmani advised judges to focus solely on their duty to decide cases and expedite the resolution of legal matters. He concluded, "Judges should only decide cases and resolve cases quickly."
'ECP has conducted controversial elections in country's history,' claims Shibli
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Shibli Faraz asserted that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had conducted what he described as the "most controversial elections" in the country's history.
Speaking to media outside Peshawar High Court, Faraz voiced his strong discontent over recent developments in the electoral and judicial processes. Faraz revealed that the 26th Constitutional Amendment had been challenged in court.
"The way judges are being appointed is not legally or ethically correct," he stated, expressing concerns over the fairness and transparency of the process.
He said that the tenure of the chief election commissioner (CEC) had expired, a fact that he claimed had added to the controversy surrounding the commission's actions.
The PTI leader also questioned whether the ultimate goal was to disqualify the top leadership of his party. "Is this the purpose, to disqualify the top leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf?"
Faraz asked, casting doubt on the impartiality of the entire election process. He warned that any flaws in the process would undoubtedly influence the judges appointed during this period.
"When the process is flawed, it will affect the judges appointed through that process," he added.
Faraz maintained: "The PTI would submit the names for the new Chief Election Commissioner by the following day. "We will send the names for the new CEC by tomorrow."
After hours of standoff in Islamabad, lawyers end protest against 26th Amendment
Islamabad witnessed a large-scale protest by lawyers against the 26th Constitutional Amendment and the Judicial Commission meeting scheduled for today.
The demonstration, called by the National Action Committee, saw lawyers from Sindh and other regions gathering outside a private hotel in the capital.
After hours of standoff between police and lawyers, the protesters called off their demonstration and retreated from the protest site, bringing it to an end.
Chanting slogans against the amendment, the protesting lawyers expressed strong opposition, claiming that the amendment is an attack on the judiciary and the state of Pakistan.
The protesters attempted to go from a private hotel to Supreme Court building.
The lawyers marched towards Express Chowk on Embassy Road in the form of a rally.
Clashes
During the demonstration, lawyers attempted to march toward the Supreme Court.
The protesting lawyers removed barricades placed on Srinagar Highway, leading to clashes between them and law enforcement officers.
Police tried to prevent the lawyers from advancing, resulting in a confrontation between the security personnel and the demonstrators.
Amid the protest, lawyers pushed DIG Security Ali Raza as the demonstrators reached Serena Chowk.
The lawyers blocked Srinagar Highway, prompting police to resort to baton charges to disperse the crowd.
To control the situation, police personnel were deployed outside Serena Hotel, prepared to use tear gas to disperse the protestors.
President IHC Bar Association
President of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, Riyat Ali Azad, criticized the government's decision to seal a 27-kilometer area, calling it a testament to the strength of the legal fraternity and a failure of the administration.
He emphasized that lawyers from across Pakistan have gathered in Islamabad to stand for their cause. He stated that their presence on both sides of the Constitution Highway reflects their unity and determination.
Riyat Ali Azad further declared that the ultimate destination of the protest is the Constitution Highway and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, underscoring their commitment to upholding justice and the rule of law.
Which routes are open and closed?
Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Marriott, D-Chowk are completely blocked along with the camouflage coming from the Bari Imam shrine. However, the Islamabad administration and Police kept open one gateway to the Red Zone from Margilla Road for the Islamabad Secretariat staffers.
Section 144 has been imposed by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.
Senior lawyer Munir A. Malik stated, "All routes have been blocked to stop our protest. This amendment is a direct assault on the judiciary and the constitution of Pakistan. We have fought for constitutional rights in the past and will continue our struggle."
The situation remains tense as the protest continues, with legal professionals vowing to resist any move they believe undermines judicial independence.
Pakistan rejects Israeli PM's remarks on Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia
Pakistan has strongly condemned on Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statement regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, describing it as irresponsible and provocative.
In a statement issued by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Netanyahu’s remarks were deemed an open violation of international law, UN resolutions, and principles of justice. “It is extremely unfortunate to misrepresent Saudi Arabia's position on the Palestinian issue,” Dar said.
“Netanyahu’s statement undermines the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and an independent state.”
Dar further emphasised that the international community must denounce such inflammatory statements and hold Israel accountable for its actions.
He added that any attempt to weaken Saudi Arabia’s unwavering stance on the issue was regrettable.
“Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia,” Dar asserted.
He reiterated that the establishment of a free Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders, was the legitimate right of the Palestinian people.
“Any attempt to displace them from their homeland is unacceptable,” he said. Dar affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working with Saudi Arabia and the global community for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue.

On the other hand, the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, calling them “dangerous and irresponsible.”
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi stated that Netanyahu’s comments reflect the Israeli occupation’s disregard for international laws, UN treaties, and the sovereignty of states.
He reaffirmed the GCC’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and emphasized the necessity of a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state, having occupied East Jerusalem as its capital.
Albudaiwi further urged the international community to take a firm stance against what he described as “aggressive Israeli statements,” warning that such rhetoric threatens regional and global stability.

Saudi Arabia on Sunday strongly rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks regarding the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, condemning them as an attempt to deflect attention from Israel’s ongoing military actions.
In a statement issued by the Saudi foreign ministry, the Kingdom welcomed the widespread rejection of Netanyahu’s comments by Arab and Islamic nations, stressing that such positions reaffirm "the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab and Islamic world."
Riyadh dismissed Netanyahu’s remarks as an effort to "divert attention from the consecutive crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian brothers in Gaza, including ethnic cleansing."
The statement further criticised what it termed an "extremist occupying mindset," accusing Israel of failing to recognise the deep-rooted historical, emotional, and legal ties between Palestinians and their land.
"The Palestinian people are rightful owners of their land, not outsiders or migrants who can be expelled at Israel’s whim," it asserted.
Saudi Arabia also held "extremist elements" responsible for obstructing peace efforts, stating that such forces had long prevented Israel from accepting peace, rejecting coexistence, and dismissing Arab peace initiatives while systematically oppressing Palestinians for over 75 years.
Riyadh reiterated its unwavering support for Palestinian statehood, asserting that "the Palestinian people’s rights remain unshakable and cannot be taken away, regardless of how much time passes."
The statement concluded by emphasising that a lasting solution could only be achieved through "reason and a commitment to the two-state solution."
The remarks come amid heightened tensions as Israel continues its military campaign in Gaza, which, according to Saudi Arabia, has "completely destroyed the territory and killed or injured more than 160,000 people, most of them women and children, without any sense of humanity or moral responsibility."
Election tribunals decide on 30% of cases, 70% still pending: Fafen report
The Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) mentioned on Sunday that the election tribunals had made decisions on 30 per cent of the total petitions, leaving 70% unresolved.
According to a report released by the Fafen, three tribunals decided on nine petitions, while tribunals in Bahawalpur and Karachi each delivered verdicts on one petition. Of the 11 decided cases, six were from independent candidates supported by the PTI, four were from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and one was from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
As of January 2025, the tribunals had delivered verdicts on 112 election petitions, with 11 decisions being announced in that month alone.
Moreover, Fafen stated in its report that all 11 cases were dismissed by the election tribunals in January. Following legal challenges in Punjab, there had been an improvement in the speed of decisions related to election petitions.
The Fafen report revealed that tribunals in Balochistan had made decisions on 41 out of 51 petitions, while those in Punjab had decided on 45 out of 192 petitions. The tribunals in Sindh had resolved 17 out of 83 petitions, and those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had made decisions on nine out of 42 petitions.
The report further noted that, with respect to national assembly seats, decisions had been made on 25 out of 123 petitions, and regarding provincial assembly seats, verdicts had been delivered on 87 out of 248 petitions. The Supreme Court had received 38 appeals challenging the election tribunals' decisions: 24 from Balochistan, 10 from Punjab, and four from Sindh.
So far, the Supreme Court had ruled on three appeals, with one being accepted and two rejected. The election tribunals had dismissed 108 of the 112 petitions, while three were accepted.
One petition was dismissed due to the death of the petitioner, and a re-polling was ordered for three seats in the Balochistan Assembly.
JCP to meet tomorrow for discussion on appointment of eight new judges
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan is set to hold an important meeting on Monday at 2 pm to discuss the appointment of eight new judges to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The meeting will take place under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, in the Supreme Court's conference room.
The matter of judicial appointments has remained controversial for several months due to disagreements over the seniority of judges. The Judicial Commission has called for the submission of names of senior judges from Pakistan's five High Courts — Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Quetta — to assist in the selection process.
The meeting will determine whether the appointments will be made immediately or if further consultations are required.
The dispute surrounding the appointments began when four senior judges of the Supreme Court — Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Ayesha Malik, and Justice Athar Minallah — wrote a letter to the Chief Justice requesting the delay of the appointment process.
In the letter, the judges argued that the potential formation of a full court to hear the case on the 26th Constitutional Amendment could lead to complications if new judges were appointed.
Additionally, the judges raised concerns regarding the constitutional re-oath requirement after the transfer of three judges from the Islamabad High Court, which was not adhered to, thus calling into question their judicial status.
Senator Ali Zafar had also requested a postponement of the meeting, referencing the ongoing seniority dispute among Islamabad High Court judges. In a letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, Senator Zafar emphasised that the meeting should be delayed until the issue of seniority was resolved. The four senior judges of the Supreme Court had similarly requested the postponement of the meeting.

PTI's protest in Swabi fails to gain traction
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faced a significant setback in Swabi as its protest failed to garner the expected response.
Despite holding power in the province for thirteen years, the party only managed to gather 5,000 protesters, a figure that was considered a major political embarrassment.
Sources revealed that the PTI leadership had once again demonstrated its lack of interest in generating serious public pressure for the release of Imran Khan. Party leaders failed to make any substantial efforts to mobilise protesters in their constituencies, and there was little notable response from across the country.
Political analysts pointed out that the failure of the protest could mark the final nail in the coffin of Imran Khan's politics, which has been based on division and chaos. "The public has rejected politics that hinder economic progress and development," they remarked, emphasising that the PTI's call for protest was widely ignored across the nation.
Experts argued that the dismal outcome proved that making statements on social media and talk shows was a far cry from holding real political power. "Today's flop show has clearly shown that PTI’s politics, under Imran Khan’s leadership, has reached a dead-end," they concluded, placing full responsibility on Khan and his leadership.
Fazl stands against putting Imran, other politicians behind bars
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that he was against putting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and any other politicians behind bars.
Expressing his thoughts in Mardan, Rehman said: "It is up to the courts to declare the innocence of the PTI founder." He said there was no room for promoting extremism in the politics.
"Both the JUI-F and PTI had shown rigidness in terms of the attitude in the past. The efforts are underway to balance the situation in the country."
Speaking about an anniversary of the elections, Rehman said, "The government was formed on the basis of rigging on February 8."
He said, "The JUI-F has fought its war single-handedly."
Rehman stated, "It is unfair to throw out the opponents from the politics through the power."
Underlining the importance of holding talks in politics, Rehman said, "It is important to maintain contacts with the opponents in politics."
He was of the view that economic prosperity hinges on the prosperity of the laypeople."
Rehman said, "The rigging was held during the general elections in both the center and provinces."
Expressing his reservations over the registration of the seminaries, Rehman stated, "The process of the registration of the seminaries is still being delayed. We want to address the problems in a good manner."
He said, "We got success in the 26th constitutional amendment."
"Every institution should work by remaining in boundaries in line with the country's constitution."
Talking about United States President Donald Trump, Rehman said, "Donald Trump has no understanding of the global issues."
Imran Khan gets no advantage despite Trump's presidency
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif asserted on Saturday that despite Donald Trump assuming the presidency of the United States, no advantage had been gained for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
In a statement, Asif addressed the claims made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who stated that 99 per cent of PTI’s demands had been fulfilled.
Asif questioned, “If their demands have been accepted, then why the protest?” He emphasised the contradiction between Gandapur's statements and the ongoing unrest, suggesting that the protests were baseless.
The Defence Minister further mocked the PTI's predictions, saying, “PTI had raised a commotion claiming that when Donald Trump comes into power, Imran Khan will have success. Trump is now in power, but Imran Khan has achieved nothing.”
Commenting on the ongoing dialogue between the government and the opposition, Asif remarked, “When there is no seriousness in negotiations, such results are inevitable. There is no reality to the talks between PTI and the establishment; PTI members are merely comforting their supporters.”
Asif said: “We have no objection if the protests are peaceful, but PTI’s protests or gatherings are never peaceful.”
Bushra Bibi seeks pre-arrest bail in D-Chowk protest case
Bushra Bibi - wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan - on Friday moved a pre-arrest bail application in another case linked to the party’s protest at D-Chowk in the federal capital.
The bail plea was submitted by her legal team in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad on November 26 in connection with a case pertaining to the alleged unlawful entry and demonstration of PTI activists in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has directed the investigating officer to visit Adiala Jail for Bushra Bibi’s interrogation and submit a report by February 17.
The case against her has been registered under the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act 2024, along with an Islamabad High Court order violation, which carries a potential sentence of up to three years in prison.
Court extends bail in multiple cases
The Islamabad courts also heard cases against Bushra Bibi and various PTI leaders related to the November 26 protest, granting further extensions in interim bails.
Bushra Bibi’s interim bail in a case filed at Ramna police station was extended until February 17. The hearing was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Aamir Zia, while her counsel, Ansar Kayani, filed a plea seeking exemption from her in-person appearance.
The lawyer argued that as she was incarcerated in the £190 million corruption case and lodged at Adiala Jail, the police should be instructed to conduct her interrogation within the jail premises. The court subsequently granted the extension and adjourned the proceedings until February 17.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) also took up cases related to the November 26 protests, hearing a total of 86 interim bail pleas. A total of 15 cases registered at different police stations were also processed during the proceedings.
The court accepted exemption requests filed on behalf of Bushra Bibi, Alia Hamza, Zartaj Gul, and several other PTI leaders. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer urged the court to permit her interrogation inside the jail and direct the Adiala Jail superintendent to facilitate the process.
Bail extensions in multiple police cases
Several interim bail extensions were granted across different cases, with deadlines ranging from March 7 to March 24. Cases registered at various police stations include:
Ramna police station (Cases 713, 995, 1193) – Extended till March 7
Karachi Company police station (Case 1195) – Extended till March 12
Secretariat police station (Case 321) – Extended till March 12
Khanna police station (Case 1769) – Extended till March 17
Kohsar police station (Cases 1033, 1032) – Extended till March 17 and March 21, respectively

Aabpara police station (Case 1222) – Extended till March 24
Tarnol police station (Case 933) – Extended till March 24

A number of PTI leaders, including Sher Afzal Marwat, Salman Akram Raja, Shoaib Shaheen, Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Nadia Khattak, and Rauf Hassan, have been named in these cases.
Among the lawyers representing the accused were Sardar Muhammad Shubhishek Khan, Amna Ali, and Ansar Kayani.
ECP dismisses NGO's claims as 'baseless, defamatory'
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected on Friday the interview and press release issued by a representative of the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Pattan, describing them as baseless and contrary to facts.
In a statement released by the ECP, the Commission confirmed that the interview and press release were part of a deliberate and organised campaign to defame Pattan and other national institutions.
According to the ECP spokesperson, after the general elections, forms 46, 45 and 47 were displayed on the website without any alteration. These forms remain available on the website to this day.
The spokesperson clarified that the parties involved had filed election petitions according to the law, and hearings were ongoing, with some decisions already rendered after listening to the parties’ positions.
The spokesperson further pointed out that voter turnout in the elections had been included in the ECP’s annual and post-election reports, which were being published as per the law.
On the matter of reserved seats for women and minorities, the spokesperson noted that it would not be appropriate to comment further.
The ECP, they stated, would make decisions based on the constitution and the law, and any party with evidence of irregularities should provide it to the affected parties, so the matter could be brought before the tribunals for due legal process.
The spokesperson also remarked that the Pattan organisation should have sought the ECP's position before publishing the report. The publication of the report without consulting the ECP demonstrated that it was part of a baseless and fabricated propaganda campaign.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson affirmed that the ECP would not be pressured by such tactics and would continue to perform its duties in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
Judges’ transfer issue: Justice Babar Sattar writes to Aamer Farooq
The matter concerning the transfer of three judges from the provinces took a new turn as Justice Babar Sattar wrote a letter to Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Friday.
According to details, the letter, in which concerns were raised over the seniority list of transferred judges, demanded the revocation of both the seniority list and the administration committee notification.
Justice Babar Sattar, a member of the Islamabad High Court, pointed out in his letter that the change in the High Court Administration Committees was illegal. "The seniority list and the administration committee notification must be withdrawn," he stated.
The letter also mentioned that a representation would be filed against the seniority list.
The letter highlighted that it was unlawful for transferred judges to be part of the committee without taking an oath as judges of the Islamabad High Court.
“There is no mention in the transfer notification whether the transfer is temporary or permanent,” Justice Sattar’s letter stated.
It added that under Article 194, the transferred judges had already taken oaths in their respective high courts, pledging to serve there.
However, after the transfer to the Islamabad High Court, none of the three judges had taken the required oath, which meant they could not commence their duties without it.
In the letter, Justice Sattar further argued that without taking the oath, the judges could not be considered as part of the judicial or administrative functions of the Islamabad High Court.
"Under your supervision, the three judges have begun work in violation of Article 194. As Chief Justice, it was your responsibility to administer their oath," he wrote, adding that the failure to do so could result in embarrassment for the judges later on.
The notification for the administration committee, according to Justice Sattar, also violated the Islamabad Judicial Service Rules of 2011.
According to the letter, the Islamabad Judicial Service Rules stipulate that the administration committee should consist of the Chief Justice and two judges.
Therefore, it was not permissible for Justice Khalid Soomro, ranked ninth, to be included in the committee.
Furthermore, two judges from Sindh and Lahore High Courts, who lacked administrative experience with the Islamabad High Court, had been included in the committee.
The letter pointed out that just three days before, their transfer notification had been issued, and they had been included in the committee simultaneously.
Justice Sattar concluded, “We constantly remind that the executive can use its powers transparently according to the law. You will agree that judges, like the executive, are equally bound by the exercise of discretionary powers.”
Govt invites PTI for talks again
The federal government has once again extended an offer for dialogue to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasising that the doors for negotiations have never been closed.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq confirmed that the government’s negotiation committee remains intact and has not been dissolved.
Speaking to the media, Ayaz Sadiq said that despite political differences, PTI members are still in contact with the government. He also highlighted that the initiative for talks must come from within PTI itself.
“If approval comes from within the PTI, then they will approach us,” he stated.
Referring to PTI Founder Imran Khan, Sadiq acknowledged that he is a tough negotiator, but reaffirmed that channels of communication remain open.
On Jan 31, Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah had also expressed the government's readiness to engage in talks with the PTI, regardless of whether the party approached for negotiations after two or 10 days.

Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, 'Mere Sawal With Absar Alam', Rana Sana said: "If the PTI contacts us for talks, the government will be prepared."
He further said that the PTI founder could not be removed from politics.
A day ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had said in a federal cabinet meeting that the government had accepted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) offer for dialogue and even formed a committee for negotiations. However, the PTI backed out of the scheduled meeting on January 28, refusing to participate, he added.
“They ran away after setting the date. We said we will respond to them in writing,” he had said, adding that past political investigations, including those from 2018, were never pursued properly. He also questioned why the PTI’s 2014 sit-in is overlooked when discussing political matters.

"The committee formed for investigation in 2018 did not hold a single meeting," he remarked, adding that they should look at their own conduct first. "We are ready to form a house committee."
"If they talk about November 26, 2024, then the 2014 sit-in should also be considered. We sincerely want the negotiations to move forward," he stressed.
However, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had rejected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer of forming the parliamentary committee. Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Barrister Gohar had termed it unrelated to the party’s demands. “The prime minister spoke on an irrelevant subject today,” stated Gohar. He maintained that the prime minister’s statement did not align with PTI’s demands.
Gohar had clarified that PTI had not included any demand concerning elections or mandate in its charter of demand. “Our demand was the establishment of a judicial commission and the release of imprisoned party members,” he asserted.

Gohar had categorically stated that the PTI would not consider the prime minister’s unrelated offer. He further accused the government of delaying negotiations and missing a crucial opportunity.
PTI leader Shibli Faraz had also dismissed the proposal of forming a house committee, stating that such an approach was not appropriate. “A house committee is not the right way to proceed,” Shibli Faraz asserted, criticising the government’s approach. He remarked that the prime minister’s true stance was reflected in his behaviour towards other political parties.
On Jan 23, the PTI had announced the end of its negotiations with the government, citing a lack of cooperation and failure to announce a judicial commission as key reasons.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, had disclosed that PTI Founder Imran Khan had made the decision to end the negotiations after the government refused to form a three-judge commission to investigate the May 9, 2023, violent incidents.
“Negotiations cannot proceed unless a three-member judicial commission is formed,” Gohar stated. He had emphasized that the PTI had entered talks with the hope of resolving issues, but had to discontinue due to the government’s alleged unwillingness to cooperate.
He further stressed that negotiations could continue if a commission was formed, adding that his party wanted the talks to succeed. He also said that Imran Khan had reiterated his commitment to pursuing efforts to talk under the framework of the Constitution and law. Barrister Gohar further revealed that the PTI plans to join hands with all opposition parties to continue their struggle for justice and accountability.
PM Shehbaz, Fazl discuss Balochistan’s security and madrassa registration bill
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the federal capital on Thursday, where discussions revolved around Balochistan’s security, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the madrassa registration bill.
According to details, JUI-F Secretary-General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said the meeting had not been arranged with a pre-determined agenda.
He said, "Fazlur Rehman had conveyed concerns regarding immense pressure on him over madrassa registration."
"The prime minister was informed about the mounting pressure I faced regarding madrassa registration," he said.
Haideri mentioned that Fazlur Rehman expressed reservations about the security situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that the conditions in the provinces had deteriorated to the extent that no one remained safe.
The JUI-F leadership emphasised the necessity of addressing legal matters to resolve provincial issues.
Haideri stated that Shehbaz Sharif attentively listened to the JUI-F's stance and responded positively to the concerns raised.
