Oppo is set to make waves in the smartphone world with its upcoming Find N5, poised to be the world’s thinnest foldable phone.
At just 3.5–4mm thick when unfolded, the Find N5 will surpass the current titleholder, Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm.
Teased by Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau on Weibo, the Find N5’s slim design makes it thinner than a standard pencil, setting a new benchmark for foldable devices. The phone is expected to feature a titanium alloy hinge, ensuring durability despite its ultra-thin profile.
While Oppo hasn’t revealed the full specifications, leaks suggest the Find N5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and house a 5,900mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The device will also sport a triple 50MP rear camera setup, ensuring top-notch photography.
Although the Find N5 is set to launch in China, Oppo’s history of rebranding its foldable phones for global markets raises the possibility of a OnePlus Open 2 launch for international consumers.
Foldable phones are typically bulkier than traditional smartphones, making thinness a critical feature. With the Find N5, Oppo aims to deliver the large-screen real estate of a foldable without compromising pocketability.
