Apple is set to enhance the thermal management of its devices with the introduction of vapour chamber (VC) cooling technology across the entire iPhone 17 lineup.
This shift aligns Apple’s hardware capabilities with many leading Android devices that already utilize this advanced cooling system.
Vapour chambers are closed metallic units containing deionized water. The heat from the device’s chipset causes the water to evaporate, evenly dispersing heat across the chamber’s exterior.
This design significantly reduces thermal throttling, improving performance during intensive tasks like gaming or video editing.
Contrary to earlier reports by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which suggested VC cooling would be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, recent updates reveal that Apple plans to incorporate the technology into all models of the series.
