WhatsApp has begun testing a bulk channel administration function on iOS with select beta users, allowing them to pick numerous channels at once, making it easier and more efficient to manage followed channels.
This critical update allows users to take bulk operations, such as muting many channels at once, marking them as read, and changing notifications. For example, if the selected channels are muted, users will now see the option to enable notifications. If the channels are not muted, users can quickly mute them in a single move.
Furthermore, this functionality allows users to unfollow many channels at once, streamlining the process of clearing up their channel list. According to WABetaInfo, this enhancement is especially valuable for customers who manage a large number of subscriptions.
Previously, users had to handle each channel separately, making actions like muting or marking channels as read tedious and time-consuming.
The functionality also offers more flexibility and control over channel subscriptions, allowing users to easily regulate notifications. For users who follow many channels, the tool simplifies time-consuming tasks, improving their overall experience.
Availability
Currently, the bulk management capability is only available to a select group of beta testers who downloaded the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS via the TestFlight app. Meta-owned WhatsApp intends to make the capability available to more users in the coming weeks.
With this update, WhatsApp reinforces its commitment to improve the user experience by providing a simple and straightforward way to manage channels and alerts.
