In a surprising turn of events, filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan appear to have reconciled after their reported fallout in 2021, which led to Kartik’s departure from 'Dostana 2'.
After three years, the duo has come together for a romantic comedy titled 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri'.
Kartik took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share the announcement video, featuring his voiceover. In the video, Kartik humorously laments about having endured three breakups and vows to ensure his fourth relationship doesn’t fail, swearing on his mother’s name: “Mummy kasam khayi hai maine.”
Mummy ki khaayi hui kasam, yeh Mumma’s boy poori karke he rehta hai!

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously collaborated with Kartik on 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', the film is set for a Christmas 2026 release. While the female lead remains unannounced, the project marks the first collaboration between Kartik and Karan Johar under Dharma Productions.

The fallout between Kartik and Karan reportedly occurred during the pandemic, halting 'Dostana 2'. However, their new project signals a fresh start for the actor-filmmaker duo.
Kartik was last seen in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', a box office hit directed by Anees Bazmee. The film, which unites Kartik with Vidya Balan from the original 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', also stars Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri. It is set to release on Netflix on December 27.
