A voice actor with previous ties to Rockstar Games has provided additional confirmation of Grand Theft Auto 6's anticipated release timeline, aligning with the publisher's official announcement.
Johnny Ray Gill, known for his voice work in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, hinted at his involvement in an upcoming Rockstar project during a recent interview. While carefully avoiding direct confirmation, Gill suggested fans should "stay on the lookout" for a new title arriving in "2025, 2026."
The actor's comments correspond with Take-Two Interactive's official announcement that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch in Fall 2025. The game's publisher has confirmed releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though plans for a PC version remain unannounced.
Reflecting on his previous work with Rockstar Games, Gill described the motion capture process: "I think I was earlier in my career and so they put the little helmet on you and they're filming you and you're doing multiple voices of different characters."
When specifically questioned about GTA 6, Gill maintained a measured response, stating, "I don't know. Stay tuned, we'll see," while expressing enthusiasm about an upcoming project in "that world."
The discussion follows Rockstar Games' December 4, 2023 release of GTA 6's first official trailer, which generated unprecedented attention within the gaming community. The upcoming title represents the first mainline entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since 2013's GTA 5.
Industry observers note that the timing aligns with Take-Two's previously announced development schedule, though the company has not provided additional details about the game's production status or final release date beyond the Fall 2025 window.
