Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, the leader of Haq Do Tehreek, has reportedly been placed under house arrest in Quetta, as confirmed by the spokesperson of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The spokesperson strongly condemned the detention, emphasizing that the voices of the oppressed cannot be silenced by force.
Jamaat-e-Islami expressed solidarity with the oppressed and participants of the sit-in in Chaman.
While the spokesperson did not specify the reasons behind Maulana Hidayatur Rehman’s detention, they affirmed that powerful forces’ tactics would not deter people from their democratic struggle for rights.
Wajah Hussain Wadela, the Central Chairman of Haq Do Tehreek, also condemned the detention, stating that suppressing the voices of the oppressed through force is unsustainable. He criticized the arrest in Quetta and the prevention of Maulana Hidayatur Rehman from reaching Chaman, deeming it an unacceptable suppression of the voice of the oppressed.
Wadel warned of protests across Balochistan, including Makran, if Maulana Hidayatur Rehman's detention is not immediately addressed and resolved.
