Lahore witnessed partial relief in traffic congestion on Monday as some key roads and highways were reopened after days of closures.
According to the Lahore Traffic Police, GT Road, Ring Road, Niazi Chowk and several adjoining highways have been partially opened to facilitate traffic flow.
Officials confirmed that containers blocking the road from Shahdara have been removed, allowing one-way traffic. Batti Chowk and Azadi Flyover have also reopened for one-way travel. Additionally, the Ring Road, which had been closed for the past two days, has been partially restored for commuters.
The road leading to Imamia Colony railway crossing is now open as well. However, authorities clarified that these roads would remain partially open until further notice.
On the other hand, significant restrictions persist. The traffic police reported that six sections of the motorway, including M1, M2, M3, M4, M11, and M41, remain closed. The Sialkot Eastern Bypass and the road from Laliani Toll Plaza to Lahore are still off-limits. Entry for general traffic on these routes is strictly prohibited, and motorists are advised to avoid using closed roads to avoid inconvenience.
