The Saudi Riyal (SAR) recorded a slight increase against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) in the open market, standing at Rs74.74 on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
However, the selling rate remained unchanged at Rs75.14, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan.

The Riyal, the official currency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is abbreviated as SAR or SR and is subdivided into 100 halalas. Currency exchange refers to converting one currency into another, such as Pakistani Rupees into US Dollars, UAE Dirhams, or other foreign currencies.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in defence and security. This commitment was reiterated in a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
Accompanying the prime minister were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The meeting underscored the importance of deepening strategic and economic ties between the two nations.
Overseas Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia remained the top contributors to remittances, sending $744.4 million in February 2025. This marks a 2.21% increase compared to January 2025 and a 37.88% rise compared to February 2024.
