The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reportedly decided to mark February 8 -- the one-year anniversary of general elections -- as Black Day, with protests planned across the country, according to party insiders.
Sources revealed that PTI Founder Imran Khan has directed all party lawmakers, including MNAs and MPAs, to organise and participate in demonstrations on Feb 8 within their respective constituencies to highlight their grievances and concerns.
In a recent meeting with legal advisors on Wednesday, Imran Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of party Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram. The meeting also emphasized the need for party discipline, with strict instructions issued to avoid making any statements against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Furthermore, the PTI has been advised to engage opposition leaders to gain their support for the protests.
Party insiders disclosed that the founder has urged leaders to ensure effective coordination and mobilization efforts in preparation for February 8.
