The year 2024 marked a significant recovery for Pakistan's textile industry, with exports increasing by $1.3 billion compared to the previous year.
The growth comes after several years of decline, as the textile sector experienced a boost in exports in the first eleven months of the year.
Pakistan's textile exports for 2024 reached $15.97 billion, reflecting a $1.3 billion increase from the previous year. Exporters in Faisalabad have welcomed this growth, calling it a positive development for the industry.
Rehan Naseem Bhara, the president of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, highlighted that despite rising electricity rates, the export of knitwear reached $570 million, and ready-made garments saw an increase of $55 billion.
Wahid Khalik Ramay, another exporter, noted that the stable value of the dollar and the control of raw material prices have led to a reduction in fabric prices, further boosting exports.
