Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has expressed relief following the settlement of her long-running divorce battle with actor Brad Pitt, which has lasted for nearly eight years.
The agreement was officially signed on Monday, December 30, 2024.
The divorce, which has been described as "horrendous" by a close source, has been an extremely challenging time for Jolie and her family. According to an insider quoted by People, the past eight years have been fraught with difficulty, not only for Jolie but also for their six children.
"These last eight years have been such a horrendous time for her and her family," the source said.

Despite the drawn-out legal struggle, which included both parties requesting a jury trial, the source emphasized that Jolie refrained from publicly airing her grievances.
"She could have pressed charges against him. She could have told the world what happened," the insider revealed. "All she wanted was for Brad to get the help he needed and for their children to get the support they needed to heal."
The relief that Jolie now feels is palpable, as she has finally put this chapter behind her. "It gives her some relief, though, that this part is finally over," the source added. Jolie and Pitt’s relationship has been under intense public scrutiny since they first filed for divorce in September 2016, just two years after their marriage and 12 years of being together.
The couple shares six children—Pax, 21; Maddox, 23; Shiloh, 18; Zahara, 19; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16. The legal proceedings surrounding the divorce have also included a contentious battle over the ownership of their French estate and winery, Château Miraval, with both parties seeking control of the property.
