In the second half of the first Test match by the end of the day's play, Pakistan scored 88 runs for the loss of three wickets against South Africa in the second innings, but a deficit of two runs remained.
In response to South Africa's 301 runs, Saim Ayub and captain Shan Masood opened the game, but Saim was bowled out after scoring 28 runs by the young batter Kagiso Rabada.
The second wicket to fall was captain Shan Masood, who tried to tackle Johnson's ball, but it hit the edge of the bat and went into the hands of the third man at the slip; he managed to score only 28 runs.
Kamran Ghulam, who came after him, also did not manage to gain a foothold on the wicket for long and repeated Shan Masood's mistake. He also tried to play the ball and was caught out. Kamran could only score four runs.
Earlier in the day, the entire South African team have been bowled out for 301 runs against Pakistan with a lead of 90 runs.
Aiden Markram, who came to open for South Africa, played a brilliant innings of 89 runs, while debutant Corbin Bosch played a revolutionary innings of 81 runs, coming in at ninth spot and saved his team from any major trouble.
Captain Temba Bavuma managed to score 31 and David 30 runs. Apart from them, no South African player was able to show a significant performance.
For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad and Naseem Shah claimed three wickets each, while Amir Jamal took two wickets. Mohammad Abbas and Saim Ayub dismissed one player each.
Earlier, Pakistan's entire team was bowled out for 211 runs before the end of the first day in the first Test match against South Africa.
South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl, at which Pakistan's Saim Ayub and captain Shan Masood came out to start the game.
Captain Shan Masood managed to score only 17 runs. He tried to tackle the ball of debutant South African bowler Bosch for a boundary, but the ball hit the edge of the bat and was caught by Johnson at the back slip, after which he returned to the pavilion at just 40.
Saim Ayub, who had opened with Masood, was also unable to show any special performance. Saim tried to block Pietersen's ball, but it hit the edge of the bat slightly and went into the hands of Vereen. He also returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs.
The next wicket to fall was Babar Azam's at 41 runs. He tried to hit a shot on Pietersen's ball, but the ball once again hit the edge of the bat and was caught by the third man at the slip, due to which Babar was out after scoring only four runs.
Kamran Ghulam batted well and scored 54 runs, but while trying to hit Pietersen for a six on the leg, he was caught out at the hands of Rabada at a total of 137 runs. Saud Shakeel also repeated the mistake of Saim Ayub and was caught out by Vereen on the ball of Bosch; he managed to score only 14 runs.
When Mohammad Rizwan took to the field, hopes of managing the team increased, but he too was targeted by Pietersen's ball after scoring 27 runs on a team total of 142 runs. Aamir Jamal scored 28 runs and was clean-bowled by Bosch.
Apart from them, Salman Agha (18), Khurram Shahzad (11) and Naseem Shah were out for zero.
South Africa's debutant bowler Bosch took four wickets in his first match while giving away 63 runs in 15 overs, while Pietersen showed a brilliant performance and claimed five Pakistani batsmen. However, Marco Johnson dismissed one player.
