The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the West Indies' upcoming tour of Pakistan, marking the Caribbean side's first Test series in the country in nearly 19 years.
The West Indies team will arrive in Islamabad on January 6, following their three-day match against Pakistan Shaheens from January 10 to 12 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
This will serve as their final warm-up before the two Test matches against Pakistan, both of which are scheduled to take place at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The first Test will be held from January 17 to 21, with the second Test scheduled for January 25 to 29. Both matches will form part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Championship.
This series will be the West Indies' first Test tour to Pakistan since November 2006, when they played a three-match series. The last time the West Indies faced Pakistan in a Test series was in the UAE in 2016, with the Caribbean side visiting for a series of three Tests.
Since then, the West Indies have toured Pakistan on several occasions for white-ball formats, including a One-Day International (ODI) series in June 2022 and T20I series in April 2018 and December 2021.
The Pakistan national team will be eager to replicate their dominant performance in the recent home series against England, where they secured a 3-0 sweep, marking their first Test series victory at home since January 2021.
West Indies' Captain Kraigg Brathwaite will lead a squad that includes several key players, such as wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva, all-rounder Justin Greaves, and experienced pacers Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales. The full squad for the tour is as follows:
