A bomb explosion occurred outside the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Balochistan's Qila Abdullah on Wednesday evening.
According to local authorities, the blast targeted a vehicle belonging to a Levies Force investigation officer. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
The Qila Abdullah assistant commissioner stated that the blast appeared to target the investigation officer’s vehicle as he was leaving the office to return home. The vehicle, carrying the officer and one other Levies personnel, was passing through the area when the explosion took place.
“The bomb was planted in the drain of the main sewer line of Qila Abdullah city,” the AC said. However, he noted that it remains unclear whether the explosion targeted the Levies vehicle or it was merely passing by when the blast occurred.
The nature of the explosion has yet to be determined, he maintained, adding that security forces have cordoned off the area, restricting civilian movement as investigations are underway.
