Mobile internet services have been restored across Pakistan following the conclusion of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) protest in Islamabad.
However, users continue to experience difficulties accessing social media platforms without using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
According to reports, applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are not functioning properly for many users. Issues like uploading or downloading photos and videos, as well as sharing audio or video files on WhatsApp, persist.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirmed the full restoration of mobile data services but did not comment on the partial disruption of social media platforms.

On Nov 23, the government had announced suspension of internet services in several major cities from midnight. The services were to be suspended in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Gujranwala.
Mobile phone services remained operational, while internet and broadband services were suspended, apparently as part of heightened security measures ahead of the PTI protest scheduled for November 24.
The Interior Ministry had ordered the PTA to suspend mobile and internet services. The ministry had said: "The internet shutdowns in areas with security concerns will be determined by reviewing the situation."
