Amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests, major transportation services across Punjab have come to a standstill.
The Metrobus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has been completely suspended for November 23 and 24, with routes from Saddar to Pak Secretariat Station and Faizabad Bridge to Islamabad closed. Containers have also been placed at key points, including under the Zero Point Bridge, to block entry.
Access routes to Islamabad, including the Expressway, remain open, but significant disruptions have been reported on the Lahore to Islamabad route. Key points like Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu Interchange, Sagian Bridge, and Shahdara Chowk have been sealed, while Lahore's Ring Road will remain closed for the next two days.
Intercity bus stops across Punjab have also been affected, leaving travelers stranded as protests escalate.
Meanwhile, Lahore continues to battle severe smog, with the air quality index (AQI) recorded at a hazardous 404.
A brief drizzle in parts of the city provided temporary relief, though the air quality remains a major concern. According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore's temperature is expected to range between 14°C and 24°C.
The situation remains tense as commuters and residents face significant inconvenience due to the closures and adverse weather conditions. Further updates will follow as developments unfold.
