Indian security forces have allegedly detained and tortured five civilians in the Kishtwar district of occupied Kashmir, according to local sources. The detainees, identified as Sajad Hussain, Meraj Din, Ghulam Hassan, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Abdul Kabir, were reportedly held without formal charges.
Reports suggest that approximately 10-12 individuals are being taken into custody daily in Kishtwar, despite previous assurances from Indian authorities about halting such detentions. Local residents have disclosed that an additional 12 youth were recently summoned to the police station.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti has demanded an investigation into the actions of Indian security officials. The situation has reportedly created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in the region.
