Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has addressed the separation from his wife, Saira Banu, after nearly three decades of marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot on March 12, 1995, announced their decision to part ways on November 20, with Rahman reflecting on the emotional toll of the split.

"We had hoped to reach 30 years of marriage, but everything in this world has an end, unseen by anyone. Even the throne of God can tremble under the weight of broken hearts," Rahman wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The news of the separation first came to light on November 19, when Saira Banu’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, issued an official statement confirming the split. According to Shah, Saira’s decision to part ways with Rahman was a result of emotional strain and difficulties that had developed over the years. “Despite their deep love for each other, the couple realized that bitterness and challenges had created a distance between them that neither party could overcome,” the statement read.
