The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders "outraged" during the parliamentary party meeting in Islamabad over the decision to postpone the rally originally scheduled for August 22.
According to details, Shahid Khattak regretted the postponement, questioning, "How to justify sending the supporters back home after inviting them." Sheikh Waqas Akram also expressed his concerns, stating: "The rally should not have been postponed in such a manner, leaving supporters disheartened.".
Omar Ayub Khan expressed his concerns about the delay but acknowledged the stance of the PTI's founder. The discussions on the issue continued with the various members, including Shibli Faraz, joining the debate.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said: "The postponement was primarily due to a scheduled religious gathering of religious parties on August 22, linked to the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat case".
Gohar also mentioned concerns about the security conditions, affirming that the rally will take place on September 8.
During the meeting, the PTI members also discussed their stance on judiciary-related legislation. The party members had declared their intention to oppose any constitutional amendments, citing the government's lack of a two-thirds majority for such changes.
