The 4th World Military Games have commenced in Caracas, Venezuela, running from August 16 to August 23, under the supervision of the International Military Sports Council. This year, 142 countries, including Pakistan, Russia, China, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Iran, are participating.
Pakistan's team competed in various events, including shooting and track and field. On August 20, Chief Warrant Officer Mueed Baloch from the Pakistan Air Force won a gold medal in the 400-meter race, bringing pride to the nation. Additionally, Sepoy Muhammad Akhtar from the Pakistan Army secured a bronze medal in the 5000-meter race.
This marks the first time in the history of the World Military Games that a Pakistani Armed Forces team has won medals. An award ceremony for Pakistani and other successful athletes will be held in Caracas, Venezuela, where medals will be presented to the winners. The victorious athletes expressed their gratitude for the nation’s support and pledged to continue winning medals for Pakistan.
