During the migration from India, the Indian Army attacked the caravans of Muslims. In these attacks, millions of Muslims were martyred.
Migrant Asghar Makhdumi narrates this story after experiencing this cruelty first hand. He mentioned that when they were migrating to Pakistan by train, they saw the bodies of Muslims who were martyred on the way on August 14.
At the same time, firing also started on their vehicle. Seeing this scene, they thought they were as good as dead now.
“We were sure that our bodies will also be abandoned here,” Makhdumi recalled. “But we had the Pakistan Army with us, and they showed great wisdom.”
He further said that when the sword-wielding enemy approached to kill them, the army retaliated. “Thus, our train was saved by the army.”
Muslims sacrificed millions of lives to achieve freedom, he said, urging for appreciating this freedom.
