In its latest budget, unveiled on Wednesday evening, the government has allocated funds to 17 major projects. The budget document reveals substantial investments aimed at improving infrastructure, health, education, and energy across the country.
According to the budget document exclusively obtained by Samaa TV, a notable allocation of Rs5 billion has been made for the eradication of hepatitis. Additionally, another Rs5 billion have been earmarked for the construction of the Quaid-e-Azam Health Tower in Islamabad, which is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services in the capital.
In an effort to uplift the country's poorest districts, Rs7 billion have been allocated for various development works. The Karakoram Highway Thakot project will receive Rs6 billion, enhancing connectivity and boosting trade in the region.
The budget also emphasizes the digital transformation of the economy, with Rs4 billion allocated for co-digitalization initiatives. The Daanish School in Islamabad will benefit from a Rs2 billion allocation.
Education in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is set to receive a boost with Rs5 billion allocated for the establishment of seven new schools. In the energy sector, significant investments include Rs21 billion for a 600MW power plant, Genco-1, in Jamshoro, and Rs14 billion for the installation of a 500KV transmission line in Lahore North.
The Karachi Coastal Power Project Unit One and Two will see an investment of Rs 18 billion, further strengthening the city's energy infrastructure. The largest allocation, Rs45 billion, has been designated for the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project, underscoring the government's focus on enhancing water resources and generating renewable energy.
