Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that his party was looking to make foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari the premier from NA-127 (Lahore).
Expressing his thoughts in NA-127 (Lahore), Zardari said: “The masses and the party workers are expressing their confidence in me. I never had any interest in going to jail, but I always went to jail for the sake of the masses.”
“I had planted the mango tree at Kot Lakhpat jail. Seven years later, I ate the fruit of the same plant. The local party workers used to meet me in jail,” said the former president.
"Recounting the party’s activeness in the country’s political landscape, Zardari said: “We have been staging politics for the past 40 years.”
