The process of filing nomination papers for general elections has been completed, now candidates have time for appeals against the decision of Returning officers (ROs) till Jan 3.
The Appellate Tribunal will decide on the appeals by January 10 while election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on January 13.
As per the ECP schedule, scrutiny of papers for seats reserved for women, and minorities will be held till January 13.

Earlier, nomination papers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding Chairman Imran Khan along with top brass and second-tier leadership were rejected by the ROs of respective constituencies.
The rejection verdict, issued by the returning officer, cited various reasons for the dismissal of Imran Khan's nomination papers for National Assembly Constituencies NA-122 in Lahore and NA 89 in Mianwali 1. The judgment highlighted discrepancies, such as the candidate's supporter not belonging to the constituency.
