The Research Ruet-e-Hilal Council has indicated a strong possibility that Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025. According to the council, the Shawwal moon will be born today at 3:58 PM, making its sighting possible under favorable weather conditions.
By the time the sun sets on Sunday, the moon's age will exceed 26 hours, increasing the chances of visibility. Additionally, the time gap between sunset and moonset will range between 69 and 78 minutes in different parts of Pakistan. In Karachi, the difference will be 69 minutes, while in Jiwani, it will be 71 minutes. In Quetta and Lahore, the gap will be 74 minutes, whereas in Gilgit-Baltistan, it will extend to 78 minutes.
The council has emphasized that if the skies remain clear, the Shawwal crescent will be visible to the naked eye, confirming the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid celebrations.
