In a recent development, the Republic of Korea has updated its visa application requirements for Pakistani nationals, necessitating an in-person submission.
All applicants are now required to submit essential documents, including a valid passport, personally filled application form, and a recent passport-size colored photograph.
For individuals seeking a short-term South Korea Visit Visa, specific documents related to the purpose of the visit, such as family reunions, meetings, conferences, and other reasons, are mandated.
Original and notarized invitation papers, along with a guarantee paper, are now prerequisites for the visa application. The inviter must provide information on the purpose of the invitation, business background, and any relevant activities.
Pakistani invitees must furnish documents including a certification of job and income, a recommendation letter, and bank statements for the previous six months. Additional documents, such as marriage certificates and family registration certificates, may also be required.
Visa fee structure updated
The visa application fee has been revised, with the fee for stays less than 90 days set at Rs12,000, and for stays exceeding 91 days, the fee is now Rs18,000.
Applicants are reminded that the visa application fee, once paid at the time of application, is non-refundable, even in the case of rejection.
With the new changes, a more stringent visa application process has been emphasised, requiring applicants to adhere to the specified guidelines for a smooth and successful application.
Pakistani travelers planning a visit to South Korea are advised to familiarize themselves with the updated requirements to avoid any inconvenience during the application process.
