Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Saturday asserted that the general elections will be held on February 8.
Expressing his thoughts, the caretaker prime minister said, “We will fulfil our responsibility in terms of holding the elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is gearing up for holding the elections on February 8.”
The interim premier was of the view that the country was facing security concerns.
Speaking about the level-playing field, PM Kakar said: “I do not believe that the caretaker government is denying the field to any of the political parties. The political parties create their narrative ahead of the elections.”
"What has the caretaker government to do with the political statements of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)? We are having better relations with everyone," the interim premier added.

“We are having better relations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari,” PM Kakar said.
"PTI has been allowed to take part in the political process. None of the parties, including the PTI, has been stopped from staging the public gathering,” PM Kakar said.
Speaking about the events that transpired on May 9, PM Kakar said, “Those who were involved in the May 9 vandalism are being brought to justice.”
He stressed the need for the upholding of stability in the country. “The political parties will have to think about bringing stability to the country after the upcoming elections.”
In connection with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the premier asserted, “The efforts underway to make the SIFC controversial"
“The country will witness good news in the coming days. We are going to reach agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. The investment will come into the country during our tenure,” PM Kakar said.
He said, "The SIFC is a big initiative. I am seeing the growth of it".
