A devastating fire broke out at the Model Ramzan Bazaar on Jhang Road, reducing 56 shops selling fruits, vegetables, and groceries to ashes. Rescue teams managed to control the blaze after four hours of intense efforts.
Eyewitnesses described towering flames engulfing the market within minutes, leaving shopkeepers helpless as their goods turned to cinders.
Six fire brigade vehicles were deployed to douse the flames, with officials confirming that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
"The fire started due to an electrical short circuit," said Muhammad Zahid, in charge of the Ramzan Bazaar. "We have informed the authorities and the Deputy Commissioner about the losses. A report is being compiled to assess damages and possible compensation."
Despite the extensive destruction and losses worth millions of rupees, no casualties were reported.
