YouTuber and content creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as Rebel Kid, has returned to Instagram after maintaining a low profile following the India’s Got Latent controversy.
She had been inactive on social media since February, after being embroiled in backlash alongside fellow YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani. However, on March 13, coinciding with Holika Dahan, Mukhija broke her silence with a cryptic post.
Taking to her Instagram broadcast channel Rebellions, Apoorva shared a message that read, "Diwaaron ke bhi kaan hote hain" (Even walls have ears). She followed it up with a brief note thanking her followers for their support during the difficult period, writing, “So thank you.”
Her last interaction on the channel dates back to February 10, when Ranveer Allahbadia apologised for his controversial remark on the comedy show. At the time, she had posted, "This is not how I should be rn (right now).”
Apoorva Mukhija and Ranveer Allahbadia recently appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) alongside show producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. The commission had summoned them over offensive remarks made on India’s Got Latent, stating that such language was “simply not acceptable.”
NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar confirmed that both YouTubers submitted written apologies, expressing regret for their comments. She emphasized that the commission would not tolerate inappropriate language in public discourse.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court lifted the ban on India’s Got Latent but issued a stern final warning to Allahbadia. The show’s future now hangs in the balance, with stricter scrutiny over its content.
As for Apoorva, her return to social media hints at a fresh start, but her cryptic message suggests she may not be ready to speak openly about the controversy just yet.
