Pakistani actress and model Alizeh Shah has once again made headlines—this time for her bold stance against unethical practices in the entertainment industry.
Known for her breakout role in Ehd-e-Wafa, Alizeh has faced her share of public scrutiny, whether for her fashion choices or outspoken views. Recently, she announced her exit from Instagram, deleting all previous posts.
Now, in a fresh statement posted on her Instagram stories, the young starlet has called out what she describes as the industry's “parchi culture” and shady behind-the-scenes deals. Without naming names, she accused some actors of using connections and inappropriate means to land roles, while sarcastically remarking that such tactics only thrive “in Pakistan.”
Alizeh made it clear she takes pride in her journey and has never compromised her self-respect to get ahead. She stated, “I didn’t sleep with anyone, I didn’t ask for favours. I’m just living my life.”
Criticizing what she termed as a lack of professionalism, she said many in the industry rely on such methods to stay relevant. She added that as soon as someone refuses to play by these “ugly tactics,” they are labelled as badtameez (ill-mannered).
Her comments have reignited debate about meritocracy and ethics in Pakistan’s entertainment world. While some applauded her for speaking the truth, others questioned the timing and motive behind her statements.
