Federal Minister of Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated on Tuesday that no member of the federal cabinet is currently taking any salary.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Sheikh made it clear that no minister had received even a single rupee in salary for the past year. "The ministers are personally paying for their home electricity and gas bills," Sheikh said.
He stated: "When ministers travel to different regions, they pay for their petrol expenses out of their own pockets."
"All ministers are voluntarily making these financial sacrifices," Sheikh maintained.
"They [ministers] travel in economy class during official trips," he said.
