Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan recounted the intense moments from the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, where a dropped catch nearly altered the course of the match.
“When Kohli’s catch was dropped, Azhar Ali provided immense support and told me to stay confident,” Shadab revealed.
He admitted feeling the pressure as he moved to his position. “As I approached the point area, I kept hoping for his dismissal.”
Shadab acknowledged Kohli’s exceptional capabilities, describing him as a player capable of changing a match’s outcome from any position. “Kohli is a match-winner in every sense,” he added.
On the subsequent ball, Shadab managed to secure Kohli’s wicket, a moment that proved decisive.
“The catch came to me, and I held onto it. Had I missed it, we might not have won the match,” Shadab added.
