The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has introduced an online system for applicants seeking attestation of educational degrees, diplomas, and other relevant documents.
According to the HEC, it is mandatory for Pakistani citizens to get their educational credentials attested if they intend to apply for studies or job opportunities in foreign countries.
The online attestation system can be accessed through the official portal at https://eservices.hec.gov.pk, where applicants are required to submit their applications.
Two modes of attestation
The HEC offers two primary modes for degree attestation:
- Walk-in mode: This service is available for urgent applications only. Under this mode, applicants can either submit their documents in person or authorize someone else to submit them on their behalf. After the initial scrutiny, applicants will be notified via SMS or email to schedule an appointment for the walk-in submission.
- Authorized courier service mode: This mode is for regular applications and is available to both local and overseas applicants. The applicants can send their documents through designated courier services, which will be responsible for the attestation process and return of the documents.
Fee structure
The HEC has set the following fee structure for the attestation of educational degrees:
- Normal attestation fee: For original degrees, the fee is Rs1,000 per document, while each photocopy costs Rs700. The same fee applies to other documents as well.
- Urgent attestation fee: For those requiring urgent processing, the fee has been set at Rs3,000 per application, in addition to the regular attestation charges. This means applicants will need to pay Rs1,000 for each original document and Rs700 for each photocopy, along with the Rs3,000 urgent service fee.
Applicants must complete the online application process and pay the attestation fees through the 1-link payment system. After making the payment, they must verify it on their profile before submitting their documents for attestation.
