A three-day practice match between Pakistan Shaheens and West Indies concluded without a result at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
The match witnessed moments of brilliance, a resolute fight from both sides, and unfortunate injuries to two Pakistani players.
The West Indies set a challenging target of 312 runs after declaring their second innings at 177 for five. In response, the Shaheens managed to score 128 for the loss of two wickets before the final day's play ended, rendering the match a draw.
Earlier, the visiting team posted a commanding 346 runs in their first innings, losing eight wickets. Pakistan responded with a declaration at 212 runs, led by an impressive knock of 80 runs from Muhammad Hurraira.
The encounter was marred by injuries to two Pakistani batsmen. Mohammad Suleman, a key player for the Shaheens, suffered a painful blow to his foot off a delivery by West Indies pacer Warrican. Suleman faced just two balls before his injury forced him to retire hurt.
Muhammad Hurraira, a member of the national squad for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies, also sustained an injury.
A fierce bouncer struck him on the face, halting play for an extended period as he received medical attention.
Adding to the Shaheens' woes, wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori could not take the field due to a finger injury.
In his absence, Rohail Nazir assumed wicketkeeping duties until the lunch break.
The squad faced earlier setbacks as Ali Zaryab was ruled out of the match entirely.
Saad Khan, who sustained an injury while fielding at short mid-wicket on the opening day, briefly returned to the ground but continued to experience difficulties.
Pakistan will take on the West Indies in the two-match Test series from January 17.
