Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) North, Major General Anjum Riaz, hosted cricket teams from Khyber and Bajaur at the historic Bala Hisar Fort in Peshawar following their participation in the Inter-District T20 Cricket Tournament in North Waziristan.
During the ceremony, Major General Riaz presented awards to both teams in recognition of their performance in the tournament. The event, organized jointly by Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and district administration, represents ongoing efforts to promote healthy activities among tribal youth.
In his address to the young cricketers, the IG FC North emphasized the tournament's broader objective of showcasing tribal talent both nationally and internationally. He acknowledged the significant potential present within the tribal youth population.
The participating athletes expressed gratitude for the support from FC North leadership and proposed organizing the IG FC Cricket Tournament 2025 in Bajaur, indicating growing interest in such sporting initiatives within the tribal districts.
