The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Rajab in Pakistan.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee took place under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Meanwhile, the zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees held meetings at their respective locations.
Based on testimonies received from across the country, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee declared that the first day of Rajab would fall on Thursday, 2 January, while Shab-e-Miraj would be observed on 28 January.
Subsequently, the special prayers were offered for the freedom of oppressed Muslims in Gaza and Palestine, unity of the Muslim Ummah, protection of the Holy Mosques, and the security, stability, progress, and prosperity of the country.
