The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution condemning US sanctions on Pakistan.
Presented by former Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, the resolution criticized the US government for its efforts to destabilize regional power dynamics in favor of India.
The resolution highlighted Pakistan’s missile program as purely defensive, aimed at deterring Indian aggression. Raja Farooq Haider stated that US actions are influenced by Indian lobbying and reflect a misunderstanding of Pakistan’s strategic needs. He reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people stand firmly with Pakistan against any form of Indian hostility.
Haider further accused the US of attempting to position India as the regional "policeman," with Pakistan as the only obstacle to this ambition. He also alleged foreign involvement in sabotage activities within Pakistan.
AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq echoed these sentiments, reaffirming unwavering support for Pakistan’s military. He emphasized the critical role of missile technology and nuclear programs in ensuring national security, citing examples of countries like Libya, Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza to stress the consequences of inadequate defense capabilities.
“National security is not a subject for compromise,” Anwar-ul-Haq stated, asserting that all political leadership recognizes the strategic importance of missile technology and nuclear strength.
The resolution reflects AJK’s unified stance against foreign intervention and aggression, while underscoring Pakistan’s defensive capabilities as vital for regional stability and security.
