Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman stated that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif emerged as a global Islamic leader due to his developmental policies.
Addressing the media, he said major infrastructure projects in Pakistan were completed during Nawaz Sharif's tenure. Rehman added that inflation stood at four per cent during that period and the government avoided assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He acknowledged that Maryam Nawaz continued efforts for public welfare and completed record-breaking projects within 10 months. Rehman also highlighted that over Rs50billion in electricity subsidies were granted to citizens.
He said local government elections had always been conducted during PML-N rule and expressed confidence that the next LG elections would take place by the end of 2025.
