Indian cricket star Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with an Australian journalist upon his arrival in Melbourne on Friday ahead of the Boxing Day Test match against Australia.
Kohli was reportedly upset after noticing video cameras pointed at his children, which he believed were filming them without his consent.
The former India captain, who is known for being protective of his family, confronted the Australian journalist from Channel 7 after spotting the cameras. Kohli made it clear that he values his family's privacy, stating, “With my kids I need some privacy, you can’t film without asking me.”
The incident took place as Kohli and his family arrived at the airport, and he became visibly upset upon realizing that the media had been filming his children. According to Channel 7 reporter Theo Doropoulos, the exchange stemmed from what was perceived as a misunderstanding, as Kohli thought the cameras were directed at his family. Kohli's frustration was apparent as he made his stance clear on the matter.
