The Sindh High Court (SHC) has accepted a plea for the urgent hearing of a case seeking the return of a Pakistani family stranded in Syria.
Notices have been issued to the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Director of Passport and Immigration, and the Pakistani Embassy in Syria.
The court scheduled the hearing for January 15. The petitioner, Mohiuddin Khan, stated that his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren remain trapped in Syria, unable to return.
"My son, Kamran, was employed at a petroleum company, but since his death, the family has been left helpless," Mohiuddin explained. The family's lawyer, Usman Farooq, criticized the Pakistani Embassy in Syria for failing to provide adequate assistance.
The case highlights the plight of Pakistani families abroad and the urgent need for effective consular support in crises.
