United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome has commended the recent positive developments in Pakistan’s economy, citing a notable decline in inflation and other encouraging signs.
The US envoy shared these remarks while attending an event hosted by the American Business Forum in Lahore. CEO of Ecowest International, Wasim Anwar, and president of the American Business Forum, Kamran Khan, welcomed Ambassador Blome along with US Consul General in Lahore Kristen Hawkins.
"Pakistan’s economy has recently seen positive signs. Inflation has also come down significantly," the envoy remarked.
During his address, Ambassador Blome expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic trajectory, emphasizing the importance of maintaining reform commitments under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program. "We hope Pakistan continues on this positive economic path and adheres to its IMF reform commitments," he said.
Highlighting the contributions of US companies in Pakistan, Blome revealed that over 80 American firms have directly employed 120,000 Pakistanis, while indirectly generating jobs for more than one million citizens.
The American Business Forum presented Ambassador Blome with a commemorative shield to mark the occasion.
