Indian comedian and actor Sunil Pal - widely recognized for his role in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2005) - has gone missing after attending a show on December 3.
The 49-year-old comedian’s wife, Sarita Pal, lodged a missing person’s report with the Santacruz Police Station after several failed attempts to reach him.
According to Sarita, Sunil had traveled outside Mumbai for a performance and was expected to return home on the night of December 3.
However, when he failed to return as planned, and his phone remained switched off, she grew increasingly concerned and filed the complaint with the police. An investigation is currently underway.
Sunil Pal, known for his comedic talent and roles in films like Apna Sapna Money Money, Hum Tum, and Phir Hera Pheri, had posted a couple of cheerful videos on Instagram just days before his disappearance.
On December 1, he shared clips of himself enjoying a boat ride with friends, basking in the tranquil sea, and exuding an air of happiness. His caption read: "Enjoying the waves of life."
Despite his public persona, Pal has faced personal and professional struggles in the past. In 2017, he publicly accused filmmaker Anees Bazmee of not compensating him for his performances, claiming that several producers still owed him substantial amounts, ranging from Rs 20 to 25 lakh.
Fans and colleagues have also expressed their concern for the well-known comedian’s well-being.
