Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said on Saturday that anyone disrupting peace will face the same treatment as terrorists.”
Addressing the Grand Jirga held in Kohat in line with the Kurram tragedy, CM Gandapur instructed the removal of all posts in the area without discrimination and highlighted that the provincial government sought military deployment to ensure peace.
"The army, police, and administration are making coordinated efforts to establish sustainable peace in the region," said CM Gandapur.
He urged the federal government to provide FC platoons to support the endeavours.
CM Gandapur emphasised the role of local elders in bridging divides, saying, “The local leaders must play their part in ending the atmosphere of hatred among the factions.”
He stressed the need for prioritising funds for temporarily displaced persons to assure their dignified return.
“The provincial government will ensure the honourable rehabilitation of displaced families,” he pledged.
The Jirga resolved: "The grand council would remain active until complete peace prevailed in the region, with full backing from the provincial government."
