The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing has expressed concern over an increase in cybercriminal activities among school students, highlighting a troubling trend of hacking and defamation.
According to Muhammad Amir Nawaz, Additional Director FIA Cybercrime Karachi, a lack of awareness has led students to commit offenses, including hacking school websites to defame teachers. "Parents must play an active role in guiding their children about the consequences of such actions," he stated.
Over the past ten months, the Karachi Cybercrime Wing handled over 700 inquiries, with charges proven against eight individuals.
Nawaz emphasized that despite a shortage of manpower, the department is working diligently to resolve cases promptly.
The FIA has urged parents and teachers to remain vigilant and educate children on the ethical use of technology, as the rise in cybercrimes poses serious concerns for educational institutions and individuals alike.
