Punjab government has further relaxed smog-related restrictions in four districts, including Lahore, to balance environmental management and economic activities.
Under the new directives issued by DG Environment Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, construction work is now permitted in Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, and Faisalabad. Additionally, brick kilns operating with zigzag technology can resume operations.
The government and private offices in these districts have also been given the green light to work with 100 percent staff capacity, signaling a return to normalcy for many workplaces.
However, the restriction on closing shops, markets, and shopping malls by 8 pm remains firmly in place to reduce pollution levels during peak hours.
Heavy traffic will be allowed entry into these districts from Monday to Thursday to manage vehicular emissions, but heavy traffic will face a ban from Friday to Sunday.
