The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has appointed Ahmad Nasir Chattha as the party's Central Punjab president and Bilal Ijaz as general secretary.
The decision was made during an important party meeting held at the KP CM House in Peshawar, attended by Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI Founder Imran Khan, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, party Chairman Barrister Gohar, Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, and senior leader Hammad Azhar. PTI Punjab and Lahore lawmakers and ticket holders were also present.
Addressing the gathering from behind a veil, Bushra Bibi instructed the PTI to participate in the November 24 protest at any cost. She conveyed what she said was a message from Imran Khan, tasking the Lahore and Punjab leadership with mobilising a large number of workers for the event.
She urged MNAs from Punjab to bring 10,000 supporters each, while MPAs were instructed to gather 5,000 workers per constituency. "Every MNA and MPA must lead their convoy and will be obliged to send the videos of their caravans to the leadership," sources quoted her as saying.
Bushra Bibi further clarified that she had no interest in entering politics and was only speaking to the party out of compulsion. "I am not interested in politics. I am speaking out of concern for my husband." She dismissed rumours of her entry into politics, describing them as baseless propaganda.
"I have never engaged in politics and do not intend to do so," she said, reiterating that she was conveying Imran Khan's complete directives.
Bushra Bibi said Imran Khan had sent a message that everyone must reach D-Chowk in Islamabad on November 24. "Everyone should have a video of reaching D-Chowk," she stressed, adding that those who did not follow the instructions would have to face action.
