Government authorities have recovered Rs 127.835 billion through a nationwide crackdown on electricity theft, marking significant progress in the campaign to restore economic stability and address the power crisis.
Law enforcement agencies have apprehended more than 86,644 individuals involved in power theft across the country. During the week of October 20-27, authorities collected Rs 1.625 billion from offenders in major cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta.
The recent operation resulted in 318 arrests during the same period. Relevant departments have expressed their commitment to continue operations until the complete elimination of power theft across the country.
The initiative demonstrates the government's efforts to address energy sector losses and improve the national economy through systematic enforcement measures.
