The area has been further destabilized by the suspension of internet services and other communication channels for the past 48 hours, crippling daily life.
Before this, curfews were also enacted in the Imphal Valley and surrounding regions, exacerbating the crisis. Reports indicate that villages and churches belonging to the Kuki tribes are being set ablaze, displacing over 70,000 individuals from their ancestral homes. The people of Manipur now find themselves living as refugees in their own country.
Despite the United Nations' call for attention to the Manipur issue, the Modi government remains stubbornly unresponsive, evading resolution efforts.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is accused of perpetuating regional instability and insecurity through its extremist policies, endangering the future of minorities.
