Traffic on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway has been partially closed, causing diversions for vehicles traveling from Islamabad to Lahore.
The diversion is being implemented at the Islamabad Toll Plaza, where drivers are redirected due to ongoing work or maintenance on the motorway.
However, the motorway remains open for traffic coming from Lahore to Islamabad, with all entrances to Lahore still accessible. According to a police spokesperson, there are no blockages preventing entry into Lahore, and footage from the Safe City monitoring system confirms that the lanes are clear.
The spokesperson also clarified that no containers have been installed at Shahdara Chowk, ensuring that traffic is flowing normally over the bridge and throughout the area. Authorities are advising drivers to remain alert and follow the diversions as they navigate their journeys.

These clarifications come as the PTI prepares to hold a rally in Kahna area this afternoon. Despite the nominal arrangements, PTI workers have started arriving at the venue, which was designated at Jallo Park, instead of the initially planned Minar-e-Pakistan.
Barbed wire has been placed up to two kilometres on the Ring Road and the police has asked participants not to enter the rally venue by crossing the road. The police has also ordered that vehicles will not be allowed to be parked on the Ring Road, while a forklift and crane have been parked on the road to remove any vehicles violating the instructions.
Although roads leading to the venue remain open, containers have been installed at several points on Ferozepur Road and on the entry points of the venue.
